The Flashlight Museum is an online collection of the holdings of flashlight enthusist Dave McLellan. In the mid 1990's he started a collection of one of each current Eveready flashlight.

1. The collection decision was based on what flashlights had the most nostalgia potential. The site even has a goal to "provide a plethora of nostalgic items for viewing pleasure and to enhance knowledge of these valuable finds". Furthermore, the site was easily navigated with search capabilities but the best way to explore the site was browsing either by brand or style. I was actually kind of impressed by the organization of the digital collection.

2. Each flashlight had a fair bit of metadata considering it was a flashlight. Metadata included the brand, how many cells it was, the model type/number (ex: ribbed chrome, sport, vulcanite light etc), type of switch, type of bulb, any additional features such as if it had a clip for hanging purposes, retail price, date manufactured, type of battery it used, reference number, how many times the image had been viewed and how long it had been online.

3. The images had no zoom for detail but were quite large. There was only one image taken above the flashlight as it lay on it's side. If it was more of a lamp than the item was picture from the side. A few of the flashlights had pieces dismantled to show an interesting feature such as a interesting ring hanger.

4. The intended audience is flashlight enthusiasts particularly anyone who attends the flashlight conventions (yes, there ARE flashlight conventions.)
